We are happy to announce that our GRIDSHOT® playout solution supports SRT version 1.4.4. This version includes improvements to the stability of the protocol, and is backwards compatible with older versions of the SRT protocol. This means that there will not be any problems for OTT / IPTV parties who have not yet switched to the new version.
GRIDSHOT® playout supports the SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) protocol since the beginning of 2020. Since November 2020 we are members of the SRT Alliance and closely follow further developments. Around this protocol we have built an advanced IP whitelist authentication layer to prevent unwanted data traffic / connections, and only allow access to authorized parties that have the proper rights to access licensed content. In addition, we cooperate with software suppliers that offer specialized IPTV / OTT software solutions. With this cooperation we want to ensure that our playout and streaming outputs, such as SRT, are interoperable with third party software. Our playout solution is based on the official broadcast standards.
